Violetta Leigh

Heartworm Press is honored to welcome writer and artist Violetta Leigh, for her forthcoming prose poetry collection.

Born in Canada and based in Seattle, Violetta Leigh is a writer, poet, interdisciplinary artist, photographer, and ceramicist. Her debut short fiction collection, Drone Philosophy, was released in 2019, followed by Night Paces (Black Flowers Press, 2021) and the collaborative poetry and photography chapbook Absence Under the Electrics (2022), before her debut prose poetry collection, Lights Under Concrete and Glass (Void Set Press, 2024).

Leigh's work is distinguished by its intensely descriptive, meticulously composed language, weaving vivid imagery with emotional precision to illuminate memory, intimacy, and place. Her forthcoming collection with Heartworm Press continues this exploration through a new body of prose poetry.
